In April, I flew to London to see a trio of new exhibitions, all stocked with royal jewelry and fashion content. Today, I’m sharing the first in a multi-part travel diary series about the trip, focusing on my experience attending the press preview of the new Cartier exhibition at the V&A.

For several years, I’ve been lucky enough to receive press invitations from organizations like the Royal Collection Trust to attend previews of their exhibitions in the UK. For me, it’s a little more difficult than simply heading over from my office, because The Court Jeweller HQ is located in the United States, not the United Kingdom. In recent years, flying to London for a few days hasn’t been a realistic possibility, because I had a baby in 2023. But this year, with a two-year-old in daycare and an encouraging spouse, I was able to book a quick trip to London and finally accept the invitations to view Cartier at the Victoria & Albert Museum and The Edwardians: The Age of Elegance at the King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace.
