Next week, the world celebrates love on Valentine’s Day. What could be more romantic and full of love than a ring offered as part of a royal engagement? Today, we’ve got a close-up look at some of the most fabulous royal engagement rings worn by the wives of European sovereigns. We’ll start in Britain, where the royal family has been on everyone’s mind after King Charles III’s recent cancer diagnosis. (Get well soon, Your Majesty!) Queen Camilla wears an engagement ring with sentimental family ties. In 2005, Charles proposed to his longtime companion with a diamond ring that had belonged to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The ring features an eight-carat emerald-cut diamond, which is flanked by six diamond baguettes and set in platinum. The ring wasn’t the Queen Mum’s engagement ring—that one was set with a sapphire—but it is said to have been made in the 1920s.
