The Crown Princess of Sweden celebrates her 47th birthday tomorrow. It’s hard to believe that Victoria has been wearing tiaras for almost three decades, but when you survey the sheer number of sparklers that Victoria has sported in that time, it’s easier to wrap your head around. From tiny hair ornaments to magnificent heirlooms, Victoria has worn eleven fantastic royal tiaras so far–with the promise of more in the future, too.
The Early Favorites
Scandinavian princesses traditionally receive a tiara as an eighteenth-birthday gift, so that they’re officially ready to attend gala functions with the rest of the family. From the start, one of Victoria’s favorite royal jewels was the Baden Fringe Tiara, a classic diamond sunray tiara that belonged to Queen Victoria of Sweden. She was even immortalized wearing it in Barbie doll form!
